The Importance of Clean Bedding and How Often to Wash

How often do you wash your sheets?

I have seen and heard this question asked many times and there are so many different answers. There is no right or wrong answer, just what is best for your circumstances.

The most popular response is to change your sheets once per week, however fortnightly, monthly and occasionally even longer are all acceptable answers. Sometimes, due to skin or health related issues, it is good to wash them more frequently, however it does come down to personal choice. You do you!

In our house we change our sheets once a week and we have at least 2 sets of summer and winter sheets for each bed so that means our linen closet is quite full and organisation is key.  As the seasons change, we rotate each season’s sheets into/out of storage.

Some great ways to store out of season bedding are to use vacuum bags or PEVA storage bags.

At Soko & Co we have a large range of Space Vac bags to store all your spare bedding. From out of season sheets to pillows, doonas and blankets there is a size to suit your needs and because you can suck the air out once they are in the bag these are a great space saving option as well, not to mention it will keep your linen safe from insects, dust, dirt, mildew and odours.

Our PEVA storage bags range is also a great way to store your unused linen safely. These bags come in a range of sizes to suit your requirements and being clear means that you can easily see what is in each bag. These are great for in the closet or under the bed.

Once you have stored your less frequently used items, you can work on organising your linen closet shelves using labelled baskets or totes or by dividing your shelves with our Suite set of 2 Shelf Dividers. This will help to keep everything neat and organised so everyone can find what they need quickly and easily.
